Life

Skies Being
up
in
the
skies
is
like
no
other
feeling
in
the
world.
As
a
pilot,
I’ve
had
the
privilege
of
experiencing
the
wonder
and
beauty
of
our
planet
from
a
perspective
that
few
others
can.
From
up
here,
the
world
seems
so
small
and
fragile. I
remember
the
first
time
I
ever
flew
a
plane
-
it
was
a
Cessna
172,
a
little
two-seater
plane
that
felt
like
it
could
be
tossed
around
by
the
wind.
But
as
I
took
off,
I
felt
a
sense
of
exhilaration
and
freedom
that
I’d
never
experienced
before.
The
ground
below
me
fell
away
and
my
sense
of
perspective
shifted,
making
me
feel
as
though
I’d
been
transported
to
a
different
world. Years
later,
I’ve
flown
everything
from
small
private
planes
to
commercial
airliners.
I’ve
flown
through
thunderstorms,
snowstorms,
and
bright,
clear
skies.
I’ve
seen
breathtaking
sunsets,
towering
mountains,
and
endless
oceans.
I’ve
flown
over
cities,
forests,
deserts,
and
frozen
wastelands. But
being
a
pilot
isn’t
just
about
the
thrill
of
flying.
It’s
about
mastering
a
craft
that
takes
both
skill
and
diligence.
Pilots
must
constantly
stay
sharp,
studying
weather
patterns,
navigation
charts,
and
other
crucial
data.
We
must
maintain
our
physical
fitness
and
mental
acuity,
and
be
able
to
make
split-second
decisions
in
the
event
of
an
emergency. And
of
course,
there’s
the
responsibility
of
ensuring
the
safety
of
all
our
passengers.

they’re
entrusted
with
the
lives
of
dozens,
sometimes
hundreds,
of
people.
It’s
a
weighty
responsibility,
and
one
that
we
take
very
seriously. But
at
the
end
of
the
day,
there’s
no
feeling
quite
like
soaring
through
the
clouds,
high
above
the
hustle
and
bustle
of
everyday
life.
For
me,
being
up
in
the
skies
is
a
calling,
a
passion,
and
a
way
of
life.
It’s
an
adventure
that
has
taken
me
around
the
world
and
taught
me
countless
lessons
about
myself
and
about
the
beauty
of
this
earth. So
to
all
aspiring
pilots
out
there,
I
say
this:
buckle
up,
keep
your
eyes
on
the
horizon,
and
get
ready
for
the
ride
of
a
lifetime.

are
